ArtWorks celebrates it's anniversary!

"Pretty Good Things We've Done So Far" is an exhibition in celebration of our first year. Work from 13 studio artists demonstrates the diversity and unique talents of our growing community. Most works are for sale and are affordable, including a collection of warm, snuggly scarves for the chilly Chicago weather created during Sunday's Crochet and Knit Circle. The studio is open Sundays from 2-4 PM and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 5-7:30 PM. Interested in a specific piece? Inquire at conatact@artworkscommunity.org.

Part of ArtWorks' mission is to provide the community a space to be creative, and we are pleased to present a variety of activities led by School of the Art Institute of Chicago students and community artists.

Check out the calendar for a complete listing, but here are a few you don't want to miss:

Artist Books: An Accordion of Thoughts - learn to make a beautiful one of a kind book for your ideas, doodles, and to do lists. Thursday, November 6th, 2008, at 5:30pm. Kid Friendly. $10.
Fall Cookie Decorating! Who doesn't love cookies? Join us as we decorate cookies using the Autumn for inspiration. Bring you kids and friends, and make room to sample a few, too ! $10.
Just Dye It: Tie Dyeing Workshop - Learn some neat tricks to dye T-shirt, socks, headbands, and other things. Bring your own garment or accessory, or use what we have on hand. Thursday, November 13th, 2008, at 5:30pm. Kid Friendly. $10.
Building Community using Jenga game pieces! Fashion your own building block, then share in this Art Institute lead activity which explores how art can build a sense of community. Monday, November 24th, 2008, at 5:30pm. Kid Friendly. $10.
